Who was the founder of Mahakali Pathshala in Calcutta?

The Mahakali Pathshala was founded in Calcutta in 1893 by a female ascetic known as Mataji Maharani Tapaswini (also referred to as Mataji Gangabai). She was a Mahratta woman who established the institution on orthodox Hindu principles to provide education to girls while maintaining traditional religious values. The school gained significant popularity among the Hindu community in Calcutta. While Sister Nivedita was deeply involved in the education of Indian girls and presided over ceremonies at the Mahakali Pathshala, she was not its founder; she later established her own school in 1898 [1]. Swami Vivekananda also visited the Pathshala in 1897 and expressed appreciation for Mataji's work in educating 'blessed' young girls.
